Over 100 people have been stranded on a train overnight due to adverse weather conditions.
A train which left London stations yesterday evening arrived in Bournemouth just after 9am.
Passengers have been in good spirits despite the long delay to get home.
One passenger said the South Western Railway staff had been “incredible”.
“Everyone has been looked after, giving us coffee and blankets and making sure we had transport home once we were off the train.”
Another passenger said to the Bournemouth Rock, “the train lights turned off and the power cut at one point, it was so cold.”
The train reportedly stopped at Brockenhurst at 9pm last night and picked up people stranded at Christchurch once it began running again this morning.
Severe weather conditions are set to continue today and there will be no trains running from Bournemouth station.
A yellow warning of ice and snow from the MET office has been put in place until 12pm tonight. People are advised not to travel if possible.
