Bournemouth Emerging Arts Fringe (BEAF) today launched for the second year running, with over 500 different artists taking part in the independent festival.
Showcasing some of the best creative talent across the town, the festival includes exhibitions, live music, poetry, theatre, talks, workshops and even a film festival.
Running until the 1st November, the 18 day festival see’s 150 events take place across the whole of Bournemouth in a range of unique venues.
Event coordinator, Daniel Broadbent said: “It is incredible to see how much great work has come out of Bournemouth.
“It’s really becoming a creative town to live in and I’m proud to be part of it.”
The festival, which is put together on a shoestring budget, was developed after organisers felt it was important that local artists had a platform in which they could showcase their work.
Now in its second year, BEAF has developed even further, with 150 events taking place, after 6 months of planning by the group of volunteers.
The money to run this year’s festival has largely come from BEAF’s crowd funding campaign.
The Fringe’s highlights include Folk Folk, a live music event showcasing up-and-coming new singer-songwriters; J.U.D.I.T.H, and the Factory Film Festival.
